Over the past few years, this mantra has been drilled relentlessly into our collective digital marketing heads. But how do you know what kinds of content you should be creating, or if it will actually reach your intended audience – much less that they’ll care?

Rather than throwing gobs of content against a Facebook wall and praying that some of it sticks, this session will show you how a communication strategy built around engagement can help you win the battle for your consumers’ attention.

Leith Johnson is the Content Strategy and UX Manager for Aurora Health Care. With over 15 years of marketing and interactive experience beneath her belt, she has worked with some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Harley-Davidson, McDonald’s, Kimberly-Clark, and Target. In addition, she has served as guest lecturer and presenter at various seminars and conferences, including the Pacific Bell Education First Knowledge Network and Stanford University’s ‘Publishing on the Web,” a 3-day workshop for new media publishers exploring the vital issues that shape the online industry.

She spends her free time chasing after a hyperactive 11-year-old, reading comic books, and trying to appear as interested as possible in her husband’s dissertation.
