Social Media University Milwaukee :: Morning Keynote

Tom Snyder - Social Media 5 Years Later: Strategy is Still the Key

Morning Keynote 8:00 – 8:45 A.M.

June 11th, 2014 - Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Milwaukee, WI

PRESENTATION SLIDES

5 Years ago, the first Social Media University provided Milwaukee with its first in-depth look at an exciting and still mysterious new marketing platform. Since then much has changed. New platforms, like Pinterest and Foursquare have emerged. Businesses and organizations... large and small...have explored and embraced it as part of their marketing efforts. Some have succeeded, many have failed.   One thing hasn't changed: the difference between success and failure comes down to strategy.  Without that key component, Social Media becomes an endless game of "chase the shiny new object" with no chance of measurable or meaningful results.

Tom Snyder, is founder, president and CEO of Trivera, an eighteen year old strategic marketing and communications firm that has embraced the web from the very beginning. Tom has been blogging since 1998, sharing the insight gained from helping businesses and organizations re-enforce their brands by taking full advantage of digital and Web technology as powerful tactics in their marketing and communications strategy. Since the last Social Media University, Tom has spoken to dozens of companies, agencies and organizations, developed the Social Media strategies for Mitchell International Airport, Potawatomi Bingo Casino, The Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Regalware, state and federal political campaigns, and several other businesses, as well as authoring "The Complete Idiot's Mini Guide to Realtime Marketing with Foursquare," from Penguin Books.

When Tom isn't busy overseeing the day to day operations of the firm, you'll find him boating on Okauchee Lake or enjoying a bottle of old vine Zinfandel on his deck with his wife Marjie and their two dogs
