Social Media University Milwaukee :: Morning Session 1b

Chris Remington - Why Your Website is Still Necessary in a Social Media World

First Morning Breakout 9:00 – 9:45 A.M.

June 11th, 2014 - Potawatomi Bingo Casino, Milwaukee, WI

The recent focus on Social Media has caused many marketers and business owners to take their attention from their website. With limited time and resources, their websites have fallen into neglect as they chase after new business on Twitter. Some even go as far as claiming that, because they have a Facebook page, they don't even need a website. This session not only demonstrates why that is a huge mistake, but also how working strategically and effectively, your website can remain the bullseye of your marketing efforts and work in concert with your Social Media efforts to create a marketing tandem that is greater than each individually tool if used separately.

Chris Remington is VP of Client Strategy and Business Development at Trivera in suburban Milwaukee, WI and a member of the faculty of University of Phoenix. Previously, Chris was an Interactive Strategist/Account Supervisor at Hanson Dodge Creative, Director, eCommerce at Reiman Publications, and Senior Manager at Trisept Solutions.

Chris is a veteran interactive media & marketing professional, specializing in Web site and email strategy & execution, Web analytics and Search Engine & social media strategy. Recently, Chris has been speaking to groups about Social Media and its impact on business, including a presentation in May to the American Chemical Society-Great Lakes Regional Meeting on Web 2.0 Enhancements for Small Business, the MATC Marketing Management Club and the UW E-Business Consortium at the University of Wisconsin Madison
